As per the tradition started by the first Guru of Sikhs Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh Ji, Las Vegas, Nevada is happy to provide the service of Free Food for people of all religions, caste, and gender. As it has well said in Sikhism that god is one and each and every person is equal in front of the almighty.

ਲੰਗਰੁ ਚਲੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੀ ਖਟੀਐ ॥

Story of Langar or/ Free Food

How It Started? And Why?

According to historians, the community kitchen was a common practice during the 15th Century. Which was further adopted in Sikhism by the first Guru Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He brought this service into play to finish the hunger of the poor and help them. Langar is a one of its kind service where people from all the background sits together and have their meal without any ego between each other.

Langar is operated and started with one and only one aim i.e. to be upheld among all people, regardless of religion, caste, color, creed, age, gender, or social status—was an innovative charity and symbol of equality
